The Sisters Grimm series is very well written. Although told in third person point of view, it gives the innermost most thoughts of Sabrina and Daphne Grimm. This is hard to accomplish because of all the fantasy characters. The author really thought about each individual one and the overall plot of the story. For example, Puck, rom Midsummer's night Dream, has the cocky and immature characteristics described in Shakespeare's original play. You see this when he says, "Who's Puck?! You don't know ME? The Trickster King?" Puck's character in the book is not only immature, but an avid trickster, making the book comical from time to time. It also shares that Jack and the Beanstalk's Jack is a famous giant killer. He starts off as a hero and friend until the girls uncover the truth. Some other fairytale characters include Prince Charming, the mayor of Ferryport Landing and his apprentice Mr.Seven, one of the seven dwarfs. Once again the author really thought about how the fairytale characters would feel if they lived in our world. The author was able to put all these elements together in the end and create a great story. I recommend this to any child ages 9-12. I give this story a 5 out of 5!!
